A home’s wiring infrastructure or structured wiring package is the backbone that supports all of the various technologies in your home. At a bare minimum, category 6 shielded cable and RG6 quad shield should be wired at every television location and all AV equipment in the home.

Additional wiring for distributive video, control wiring, and fiber optic cable which can be employed today or in the future is definitely worth consideration. Furthermore, most wireless distribution of AV compressors degrades the signal quality.

Copper and fiber optic allows uncompressed distribution of the entertainment you’re purchasing, it also ensures your home will not be outdated in the near future.

So, the final word is yes, the brains of your home is important to have upfront before the walls are closed in, even if you don’t utilize the wiring immediately. It is an important benefit to have for any future upgrades or additions you do to your home.
